Debra Casto began her real estate career in June of 2023, following over 30 years in retail service. During her tenure, Debra served in retail management and worked to hone her customer service and communication skills. In addition to being an alumnus of the Upchurch School of Real Estate and a licensed REALTOR®, Debra received a degree in Marketing from the University of Alabama.
Although originally from Orange Beach, Alabama, Debra currently resides with her family in Statham, GA. She loves being in Georgia because there are so many outdoor activities you can enjoy here. There is never a shortage of surrounding lakes, and nothing compares to the beauty of the North Georgia mountains! In her free time, Debra enjoys attending classes at Pure Barre, and considers herself to be a fitness enthusiast. She is a mother, wife, and an active member of Prince Avenue Baptist Church in Bogart.
Many members of Debra’s family own and manage multiple residential and commercial properties. Through their transactions, she has come to understand the value and satisfaction that homeownership can bring. She believes that owning a home in the Athens area means getting the best of both worlds; a small town feel with big city amenities and culture! Debra aims to assist her clients with excellent customer service and open communication. In the fall of 2023, my sister decided it was time to start looking for her first home. I knew Debra personally from a local workout studio and encouraged my sister to contact her to use as her Real Estate Agent.Debra was patient and determined to find my sister a home that met her budget, wish list , and also a home that could be a good investment. Offers were put in on a couple of places, but those did not work out. Debra continued to be vigilant in the search for my sister a place that was a good fit. Finally, a place was found and Debra negotiated hard to get the price my sister was comfortable paying along with certain request to close the deal. Anyone that has purchased a home knows how much stress goes into buying a home.Debra confidently helped navigate my sister thru each step of the process. Debra was amazing! Debra went above and beyond to help me find the right house. She helped me navigate the searching and buying the house process. She stood firm when dealing with the sellers agent to make sure I was taken care of. She made me the number one priority and wanted me to be comfortable and happy with my decision. She stayed in constant communication with me and she worked out all the details… so that closing would happen. I am forever grateful that I had Debra to make my dream of owning a home become a reality.
